Having a clear goal is to live forever. It was precisely because of his stubbornness that he learned the law of immortality.

The third step of changing destiny: the transformation from "the strong" to the "show the weak" 

Monkey King showed off his skills and was expelled from his teacher. The teacher saw that his proud performance would cause disaster sooner or later. After returning to Huaguo Mountain, he defeated the Demon King, and his self-confidence drove him to value the strong to have a noble status. So he began to lead the monkeys to self-improve. In the process, he made a fuss in the Dragon Palace to get the golden hoop, made a fuss in the Palace of the Lord of Gods to tear off the book of life and death, and made a fuss in the Temple of Heaven. It was his teacher Subhuti who saw it when he drove him out of the teacher's door.

A person who can accomplish his career must first learn to keep a low profile before he can get what you want. However, Wukong was extremely complacent after returning to Huaguoshan after learning, so he always wanted others to change, but it turned out to be counterproductive. Five hundred years later, he followed Tang Seng's westward journey to learn the scriptures, which was a process in which he further changed his destiny. This step is called returning to the "five elements".

Monkey King yearned for absolute freedom, so much so that he pursued immortality and refused to obey the management of heaven. In the process of learning the scriptures, he gradually understood that there is no absolute freedom. To live more comfortably, it is not about being unrestrained, but being in Taoism every step of the way. According to the overall thinking of "Journey to the West", the laws of the human world are all in the five elements. Monkey King was pressed by the Tathagata under the Five Elements Mountain. For Monkey King, you must be clear about your position. People can pursue them, but they can't do anything wrong. In this way, things that will subdue you will eventually appear and let you return to the right path. The same is true in the real world. When people only consider the immediate economic benefits and ignore the objective laws, nature's retribution to mankind also follows, and mankind has to pay attention to the laws of nature while being passive.

In the process of Sun Wukong's learning from the West, the most critical change he experienced was to change his domineering and arrogant mentality, know how to take care of others and ask for help. That is, the transition from "the strong" to the "showing the weak".
